MONUMENTS OF THE SETTLER

I am fascinated by those temporary, man-made structures in nature—traces of bushcraft or camp building that evoke a sense of a life long past. Huts built for play, with branches leaning against each other, remind me of childhood. Abandoned or left behind there in multi-sensory natural environments, do they become monuments to the human settler? My photographic project, Monuments of the Settler, explores these structures.
